A Love Letter to the Riviera Maya
Aurelda is Jason Samadhi’s love letter to the Riviera Maya.
Years of living in Mexico shaped the story’s sense of place—the heat, color, tropical landscape, Ceiba trees, cenotes, stone, water, and the strange intimacy that can arise when a place begins to feel like home.
Aurelda transforms that relationship into fiction. It does not claim to recreate Maya history, religion, cosmology, or living culture.
Jason also experiences the world through a process he describes as remembering or transmission: characters and patterns sometimes arriving with the feeling of recognition rather than deliberate invention.
That language describes his creative and spiritual experience, not a claim of cultural authority.
